Gedee Technical Training Institute

A Model Technical Institute GTTI

About

Sri. G D Naidu, a successful industrialist and a keen educationalist hailing from Coimbatore, South India, had an immense interest in imparting practical education to the young students.

In 1945, he started a college and a polytechnic by name Sir Arthur Hope College of Technology and Sir Arthur Hope Polytechnic, which he later donated to the Government and is currently known as “The Government College of Technology” and “Government Polytechnic”.

In 1972, he started the G D Naidu Charitable Trust with the sole aim of offering short term vocational courses for the students who have passed or failed SSLC.  The courses were more practical oriented and covered various fields such as Radio & Television Technology, Automobile Service & Maintenance Technology, Draughtsman Training, Skilled Mechanical Craftsman Course etc.

Later in the year 2002, the trust started another new institution, Gedee Technical Training Institute, in collaboration with the German Chamber of Commerce to offer Diploma courses in par with the German Dual System of Training. The students undergo similar training as that of the world famous German Dual Vocational Training in fields such as Tool Making, Mechatronics etc.

The courses offered are in the fields of Tool & Die Making, Precision Machining Technology, Mechatronics etc.  The students are enrolled for the courses conducted by the National Council of Vocational training in respective fields and after their two years of training they are offered an International course, where the institute had an MoU signed with IGCC, Pune and AHK, Berlin, to offer the German ‘B’ Level and ‘A’ Level certificate courses in Tool & Die Engineering and Mechatronics.  This international course offered by GTTI is the first of its kind in India.
