Tool
and Die Engineering (TDE) – Diploma Course
(International Diploma Certificate from IHK.Germany) |
| Duration – 3 years of Institutional Study and 1 year of Industrial Training |
Tool & Die Engineering is a very highly skilled and specialized profession and requires intricate and precise fitment and machining of jobs with exposure to modern techniques.
|
| A tool engineer is one who knows to produce plastic, sheet metal and die cast components. He should be capable of designing, selecting the correct material and deciding on the manufacturing process of Tools and Dies. He should also be capable of manufacturing the same within the lead time planned. |
When all the parts are manufactured, he should be able to assemble the tool or mould and should be capable of machining and fitting the components to a high degree of precision. For this, hand dexterity and practices of filing, lapping etc., come into play. He should be thorough with the testing and trouble shooting procedures. This requires a disciplined and rigorous training programme.

| Tool
Design (PDTD) - Post Diploma Course |
| Duration : 1 year Institutional Study in Tool Design |
| Tool design is a specialized phase of tool engineering. A tool design specialist devotes his entire working time to design tools. The basic task of the tool designer is to provide drawing , model , a tool or set of tools to produce the component as per Specification. A tool designer must know manufacturing procedures and Standards. The tool designer must understand how tools perform their functions. A mastery of drafting and modeling techniques are essential to a tool designer. The trainees are given sufficient board Practice and they are taught design skills using CAD and related softwares.

| Mould Polishing – Certificate Course |
Duration : 6 months
(In technical collaboration with NOVAPAX – Germany) |
Polishing Technology in Mold Making:
Aesthetics, function and delivery time play a major role in the global market. As far as Tooling Industry is concerned, all the above three factors are influenced greatly by Mold Polishing, in the Molding arena.
Conventional Mold Polishing consumes a lot of time and human effort with the end result of comparatively a low degree of surface finish, thereby not contributing enough for all the three factors.
But, by following ultra modern Mold Polishing techniques, apart from faster completion of polishing job, productivity is also increased, as the mold release is easier and faster.
This programme is geared to the novice students of Mold Polishing techniques. Students use hands-on-instruments and tools that enable them to effectively polish the mold to a very fine specification. |
